Ex-Child Combatants
War continues to ravage African countries, in the process depriving young people of their basic rights and limits education for all goals in Africa.
Ex-child combatants find themselves voiceless and marginalised and hence need to be reintegrated into the mainstream community. In this section we provide you with links to agencies that are working towards rehabilitating and educating ex-child combatants. You'll also find materials on how ICTs can be used as catalysts to facilitate education and communication amongst ex child combatants.
Note to donors
SchoolNet Africa calls on all stakeholders in education in Angola, Liberia and Rwanda, non government organisations (NGOs) and the international donor community to support our project, From guns to Computers. We hope that the success of this pilot project would lead to an extension of education opportunities through ICTs for child ex-combatants in other war-torn countries.

LifeLine Network International
As a result of their experiences suffered during the long and bloody civil war in Sierra Leone, thousands of children have been severely traumatised. In 1996 the Sierra Leone government invited LifeLine West Africa Indigenous Ministries (now known as LifeLine Development Organisation), in association with LifeLine Network International (LNI), to set up a project for the rehabilitation of some of these children.
