This
online course has been
constructed in a way that
allows you to work through
activities at your own
pace, while also having
the benefit of interacting
with peers and mentor.
We have put all the learning
resources that you will
need onto this CD, as
well as links to websites
available on the Internet
that you can access. You
will only need to access
e-mail and the Internet
in order to derive full
benefit from the online
course environment. To
help you with using the
CD, we have adopted some
conventions that should
make your learning journey
a bit easier to navigate.
Every
page has a menu at the
top. This menu has various
options:
Click
on the Home
button to go to the main
CD page. If you are not
sure where to go, this
page is the best point
from which to access all
of the content and resources
on this CD.
Click
on the Search
button to open a search
facility that you can
use to find resources
on specific topics. Simply
type a word or phrase
in the box, and the search
facility will find all
related pages.
Click
on the E-mail
Mentor button to send
an e-mail to your mentor.
Click
on the E-mail
Group button to send
an e-mail to the group.
Click
on the Print
button to print the page.
Click

button to access the course
help page.
On
the Home
page of the course, there
are seven orange buttons
under the heading Course
Content linking
to the Getting
Started module,
and modules 1 to 6. Click
on these buttons to access
the different modules.
There is also a menu bar
at the top of each module
page that links you to
all the other modules
in the course.
There
is a link in the left-hand
menu panel on the Home
page called Library
of resources. This
provides access to an
extensive library of resources
and links to useful websites
available to you. We hope
this will remain useful
long after you have completed
the course.
You
can use the ‘Back’
and ‘Forward’
buttons in the standard
toolbar of your Internet
browser program to navigate
back and forward to previous
pages you were viewing
or pages you have already
visited.
Some
of the resources on this
CD have been stored in
a file format known as
PDF. This allows you to
print documents out easily
(or read them on the screen).
We have included a copy
of Acrobat Reader on this
CD which is the software
needed to read files in
PDF format. If you do
not already have Acrobat
Reader on your PC, you
should install it before
commencing with the course.
You
can install Acrobat
Reader by clicking
here.
